5 things to look for today

August 29, 2008

1

Don't bobble it:

If you're down in Ocean City this weekend, pick up Nick Markakis in Salisbury. Actually, it's a Markakis bobblehead, to be given away at tonight's Shorebirds game (7:05).

2

Eggs and Ralph:

If you're reading this early enough, you can "Breakfast with the Fridge" at the Inn and Conference Center at Maryland. Terps football coach Ralph Friedgen will speak from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

3

Release the 'Hounds:

The Loyola men's soccer team obviously has the tools, going 19-3-1 last year. So why shouldn't the Greyhounds be hosting the Black & Decker Soccer Classic? They play Fordham at 5 p.m.

4

Ready for football?:

As in more soccer. Towson reached the men's conference title game last season, but the Tigers are getting no preseason love. Show them you care. They open at home against Fairfield at 5:30 p.m.

5

The feeling's right:

It's Ladies Night at Verizon Center with the Washington Mystics. For $30 ($15 for season-ticket holders), women get a drink, a snack and a Mystics game (5 p.m. at the arena's Dewar's Club).
