Whatever spectacle the Beijing organizers have come up with - digitally or cuteness-enhanced as it might be - it will pale in comparison to the sight of all those athletes from around the world on the Bird's Nest floor. Sure, maybe China never should have been awarded the Games, but keep your cynicism in check for a little while and let yourself hope that the goodwill of the Olympic ideals can somehow spread around the world.
