Police said a man who was shot Tuesday night in West Baltimore died of his wounds early Wednesday morning.

Eric Brown, 20, was found lying on the ground in the 1000 block of Edmondson Ave. about 6 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead about 3 a.m. Wednesday, said Troy Harris, a police spokesman.

There are no suspects, and police do not know of a motive, Harris said. Brown, who court records show lived in the 2000 block of Etting St., had been arrested and convicted multiple times on drug-related charges.

He is the 141st homicide victim this year, compared with 200 at this time last year, police said.
