Graphic Technology is certified

Graphic Technology of Maryland Inc., a Jessup-based commercial printing company, has earned certification for its use of sustainable materials from three organizations. The company is certified to use a logo showing that the paper it uses for printing has been produced using sustainable forestry practices. The company was recently certified by PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification; it was certified in 2005 by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Certified papers must be tracked and documented from the forest, through production to the product, according to Russ Hewitt, president of Graphtec, a Consolidated Graphics firm.

Giant-Chevy Chase contract set to expire

A contract between Giant Food and Chevy Chase Bank will expire this month , resulting in the closure of 54 bank branches in the grocery stores, Giant Food announced recently. A closing schedule for individual branches has not been made final. Giant is seeking a new banking partner.

Financial Advantage included in rankings

Financial Advantage Inc., a Columbia financial planning and investment firm, has been named to Wealth Manager magazine's Top Dogs Report, a ranking of 200 independent wealth management firms.The rankings are based on assets under management.

Financial Advantage manages more than $238 million in client assets. This is the sixth consecutive year that the company has been included in the list.
