Salsa, Polka FEST

There's a lot more than salsa and polka at Salsapolkalooza, hosted by Creative Alliance. At this outdoor event there will be live bands; break dancers; children's art activities, including an egg-decorating workshop and face-painting; a global marketplace and more. Vendors will also be selling international foods.

Bromo Seltzer Tower tour

On Saturday, the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower opens all 15 of its floors so the public can visit the studios of 15 artists. Visitors can view and purchase dozens of works, which include photographs, acrylic and oil paintings, drawings, mixed-media pieces and sculpture.

Barbershop chorus

The Heart of Maryland Chorus, the performing chorus of the Patapsco Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, gives a concert Sunday at the Lurman Woodland Theater. The chorus performs locally and has won multiple division and district-level championships. Audience members can take blankets and food to picnic while listening to the chorus at the outdoor amphitheater.

The performance runs 6 p.m.-8 p.m. The venue is on the grounds of Catonsville High School, at South Rolling Road and Bloomsbury Avenue. Alcohol and pets are not permitted. Call 877-278-0961 or go to lurman.com.

Giants of Science

The Pennsylvanian quartet Giants of Science, which plays retro rock and pop songs from the '80s and beyond, has become popular on the East Coast college circuit, having performed several times at Penn State, as well as at Princeton University, Dartmouth College, Washington & Lee University and the University of Maryland, College Park, among others. The group, known for its theatrical light shows and costumes, performs today at Power Plant Live as part of a happy-hour show for ages 21 and older.
