3 retailers due at The Mall in Columbia

The Mall in Columbia has signed tenant lease agreements with three national retailers, Janie and Jack, Crazy 8 and Pumpkin Patch.

Janie and Jack, a national brand of Gymboree Corp., has opened a 1,200-square-foot store on the upper level of the mall in center court. The shop offers clothing and accessories for children from premature infants to 8-year-olds.

Crazy 8, a recent addition to Gymboree's brands, will open on the lower level of the mall in September. The 2,249-square-foot store will sell children's clothing in sizes 0 to 14.

Pumpkin Patch, a children's-wear company with more than 200 stores in four countries, opened a 3,200-square-foot store on the mall's lower level, near Lord & Taylor, last month.

'Gourmet Getaway' offered until Aug. 3

Howard County Tourism is holding the county's first Restaurant Weeks promotion through Aug. 3. Participating restaurants will offer three-course dinner menus for $30.08, and some will a two-course lunch menu for $20.08 (tax and gratuity are not included; the menus will vary.) Reservations are advised.

The event, characterized by Howard County Tourism as a "Gourmet Getaway," is intended to offer a local alternative vacation at a time of high gasoline prices and to support local restaurants.
