Man is shot in East Baltimore

City police said a man was shot yesterday morning in East Baltimore and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The shooting occurred shortly before 9 a.m. in the 1600 block of N. Wolfe St., a police spokeswoman said. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately available.

Police did not release any information about a suspect or a motive in the attack, though officers swarmed the area immediately after the shooting seeking an armed individual.
