July 17, 2008

A 19-year-old man was critically injured last night when his car overturned on U.S. 50 in Anne Arundel County, a Fire Department spokesman said.

The driver's car flipped against a guard rail on eastbound U.S. 50 between Route 424 and the Prince George's County line, said Battalion Chief Matthew Tobia. He was flown by state police helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical and unstable condition, he said. The accident happened about 5:30 p.m.

The man's name was not available from state police.
