A 16-year-old Glen Burnie boy was rescued yesterday by two lifeguards after he was found unconscious in a swimming pool at the Woodhill apartments complex, an Anne Arundel County fire official said.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 5:20 p.m. and performed rescue breathing before taking the boy to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Battalion Chief Matthew Tobia.

The boy was in critical condition, Tobia said. Fire officials say the boy lives in the complex, in the 200 block of Woodhill Drive.
