Spend funds to cool schools, Baltimore County parents urge

The classrooms at Hebbville Elementary School on Baltimore County's west side got so hot this year that 8-year-old Cameron Harris' mother sometimes took him out of school early on especially muggy afternoons.

"When I hear him complaining about not being able to breathe and feeling like he wants to explode, it scares me," said Sheila Harris, whose son just completed second grade at the Woodlawn-area school.


Public schools with air conditioning in the region:

Anne Arundel County (117 of 117) 100%

Baltimore City (82 of 190*) 43%

Baltimore County (72 of 166) 43%

Carroll County (41 of 41) 100%

Harford County (49 of 54) 91%

Howard County (72 of 72) 100%
