Dominic Guarino, an information technology manager, died of conditions associated with multiple sclerosis Sunday at his Charlotte, N.C., home. The former Northeast Baltimore resident was 37.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Gardenville and Overlea, he was a 1988 graduate of Calvert Hall College High School, where he lettered in varsity football. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from what was then Villa Julie College.

Family members said that while in school, he co-developed a software program for the U.S. Weightlifting Federation. In 2006, he received a master's degree from the University of Phoenix at Charlotte, where he had lived for nearly a decade.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Guarino worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital's Wilmer Eye Institute and in other Hopkins departments. He had also been associated with General Electric, Bank of America and Wachovia Bank.

A Mass was offered yesterday in Overlea.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, the former Jody Weisberg; his mother, Pat Guarino of Perry Hall; three brothers, A. Joseph Guarino III of Richmond, Va., Dr. Anthony H. Guarino of St. Louis and Timothy E. Guarino of Baltimore; and nieces and nephews.
