Robinson also admitted to being involved in setting a fire in the 8100 block of Callo Lane in Rosedale in April 2005 in retaliation for the theft of a kilogram of cocaine from a member of the Remington Mob.

Franchot seeks to move board meeting

Marylanders like their blue crabs, and Comptroller Peter Franchot is apparently no exception.

The state's chief tax collector, who also sits on the Board of Public Works, has formally requested that the body meet in the Lower Eastern Shore instead of Annapolis for its July 16 meeting so he and the other members can attend the nearby Tawes Crab and Clam Bake that afternoon.

It would be "truly unfortunate" if the board, which also includes Gov. Martin O'Malley and Treasurer Nancy K. Kopp, were to miss the event, Franchot wrote yesterday.

But O'Malley, who is considered a political rival to Franchot, didn't jump at the idea. Spokesman Shaun Adamec said they are reviewing the request but that Kopp would have to figure out the logistics because the state is planning a bond sale for that day.
