Punk rock fest

The lowdown: Punk music fans, get ready for the latest edition of the Insubordination Fest. The punk rock festival, which is tomorrow and Saturday, includes performances by The Queers, Sloppy Seconds, Sweet Baby and Ann Beretta, with Agent Orange headlining the kick-off show.

If you go: The kick-off show is tonight at the Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12-$14. Go to theottobar.com. Got the blues?

The lowdown: Enjoy an afternoon of blues at the 2008 Summer Blues Festival. The festival's musicians include the Just Foolin' Around Band, the Mahajibee Blues and the Kelly Bell Band.

If you go: The festival is Saturday at the Steppingstone Museum, 461 Quaker Bottom Road, Havre de Grace. Gates open at 12:30 p.m.; the festival runs until 8 p.m. Tickets are $15-$20. Call 410-939-2299.

Makeup 101

The lowdown: Oprah Winfrey's makeup artist, Reggie Wells, will let women in on his beauty secrets in two workshops to help raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Wells, a Baltimore native who says, "There's no excuse for an ugly woman," wants every woman to feel good about herself and find one feature that she loves and wants to accentuate.
