Crondall Lane stretch to close 10 weeks

The Baltimore County will close Crondall Lane between Cronhill Drive and Garrison Forest Road tomorrow for 10 weeks to relocate utilities and replace a culvert that conducts a small stream below the road.

During construction, Crondall Lane traffic will be detoured to Gwynnbrook Avenue and Owings Mills Boulevard.

Work is scheduled to be completed Aug. 29.

Northwest

Recycling center to close permanently

The county will permanently close the Northwest Area Recycling Center on June 29 because of persistent dumping. The drop-off center next to the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Station at 10010 Liberty Road in Randallstown will not be relocated.

Residents living in single-family homes or townhouses who have been using the recycling center are encouraged to participate in the county's weekly trash and recycling program. Those in need of a trash/recycling collection schedule and program guide can call the Bureau of Solid Waste Management at 410-887-2000.

Apartment/condominium residents who have been using the recycling center also may call 410-887-2000 for information on recycling options and multifamily properties where recycling might be expanded.

Lansdowne

Leadership group, UPS plan jobs session

Leadership Through Athletics has announced a new corporate partnership with United Parcel Service and will hold a recruiting session with UPS at 4:30 p.m. today at 2900 Hammonds Ferry Road, Lansdowne.

Those 17 and older can learn about the shipping company and about careers and job opportunities with UPS.

Pikesville

Have lunch Saturday with firefighters

Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company is inviting the public to have lunch with its members from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fuddrucker's, 1700 Reisterstown Road.

Fuddrucker's will give a percentage of all sales during that time to the volunteer fire company from patrons who show a flier to their waiter when ordering.
