You choose it, they make it.

Jean Fiorito and daughter Angie Fiorito Riemer, owners of Fiorito Designs in Canton, display a colorful selection of fabrics from which customers can choose for handmade purses, diaper bags and laptop cases.

The mother and daughter have been a duo since their days as project director and summer camp director at the YMCA in White Marsh. But when Fiorito decided to retire, she and Riemer had an idea to fuse their talents.

"Mom had always sewn," Angie said, "but my sister and I never wanted to sew, so I would design patterns."

Mother and daughter took a selection of purses to the Fells Point Festival. When they quickly sold out, they decided to open their first store on Fait Avenue in 2005.

In April, they moved the store to Canton Square, expanded their hours and broadened their line of baby accessories in response to interest from mothers. Prices range from $30 for purses to $145 for diaper bag sets. Every other month, the women host a ladies' night, offering discounts and refreshments.
