Man faces drug, gun charges

June 21, 2008

A federal grand jury has indicted a 23-year-old Harford County man on charges that he possessed drugs and guns and participated in a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, the Maryland U.S. attorney's office said yesterday.

Michael Ronnell Wells, known as "Bike Mike," was indicted on five criminal drug and gun counts, including that he possessed a 9 mm pistol and a .44-caliber handgun.

Prosecutors said Wells is prohibited from owning a firearm because of a previous felony conviction.

The indictment does not say where Wells is alleged to have sold drugs, but it does say that the Harford County Sheriff's Office helped investigate the case.
