Ethel Ruth Sciacca, a homemaker and former Pasadena resident, died of respiratory failure June 11 at a daughter's home in Middletown, Frederick County. She was 81.

Ethel Ruth Cheelsman was born and raised in South Baltimore and attended city public schools.

She was married for over 50 years to Leonard Sciacca, a security guard, who died in 1996.

Mrs. Sciacca was a sponsor for the Central American Relief project.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and crocheting.

Services were Monday.

Surviving are two daughters, Ruth E. Tousignaut of Middletown and Jacqueline E. Whilhite of Libertytown; a brother, Earl Cheelsman of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
