Man's body, abduction linked

June 12, 2008|By Annie Linskey

A man found dead near Gwynns Falls Park early Monday morning might have been the victim of a kidnapping from Baltimore's Block an hour before his body was discovered, according to a Baltimore police spokesman.

A woman told police that she had been with the victim, identified as Kenneth Jones, 26, of the 2200 block of Riggs Ave. outside the downtown adult entertainment district about 11:23 p.m. Sunday, said Officer Troy Harris, a police spokesman. He said the woman told detectives that she and Jones left a strip club together when two men jumped out of a car, threatened them with a handgun and forced Jones into the vehicle.

Police said officers found Jones bleeding from several gunshot wounds to the head about 12:15 a.m. Monday in the 4500 block of Bonner Road in West Baltimore. The woman told police that she and Jones are members of a Bloods gang, Harris said.
