Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Shooting : A man, 28, was shot about 1 a.m. yesterday while standing with several other men on a front porch in the 3000 block of Spaulding Ave. He was driven by a friend to Sinai Hospital, where he was treated for a bullet wound to the left side of his chest. Police said it was not known whether the wounded man was the intended victim of the unknown assailant. The man's condition was not available.


Shooting: An 18-year-old man was standing in the 300 block of S. Addison St., near South Fulton and Wilkens avenues, about 12:20 a.m. yesterday when a gunman shot him in the upper right leg. Police said the victim ran into a nearby house, where he was found lying in a hallway by police. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.


Stolen vehicle : A black 1997 Ford pickup truck with tags 07V 432 was parked in the 2500 block of Fleet St. on Monday with the keys left in the ignition when someone stole it.


Assaults: Police were seeking a man who used a sledge hammer to shatter the driver-side window of a Ford pickup truck parked in the 900 block of N. Collington Ave. about 2:40 a.m. Monday and attempted to hit the 56-year-old male occupant. While attempting to flee the vehicle, the occupant cut his left hand on the broken window and refused medical treatment at the scene. His assailant fled. About two hours later, the same man attacked a woman with his fists and a baseball bat near the scene of the first incident. She suffered minor injuries and also refused medical treatment.

Burglary : Someone entered a house in the 1500 block of National Road on Sunday or Monday after breaking a window and removed $700 from a bedroom dresser.


Burglary: Furniture and a cooking grill were stolen Monday from the rear deck of a house in the first block of Bellman Court. The items are valued at $1,100.


Burglary: A TV, 50 DVDs and 50 CDs were stolen Sunday or Monday from an apartment in the 8300 block of Church Lane by someone who entered through the front door and ransacked the interior. The property was valued at $2,000. Reported missing was the occupant's cat, which might have fled during the break-in.
