The lowdown -- Baltimore celebrates National Trails Day on Saturday with the opening of a new trailhead along the Gwynns Falls Trail. The festivities begins with timed 5K and 10K runs, followed by the opening celebration. Activities continue throughout the day, including bike tours, nature walks, rowing lessons and fly-fishing demos.

If you go -- Registration for the races opens at 7 a.m. Saturday, with the races beginning at 7:30 a.m. The opening celebration is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Costs for activities range from free to $35. Rilo Kiley

The lowdown -- Indie pop band and critical darling Rilo Kiley heads to Rams Head Live on Saturday. The band released its latest album, Under the Blacklight, last year after members explored solo projects. Thao with The Get Down Stay Down and Benji Hughes will also perform.

Crass,classy

The lowdown -- Artie Lange brings his raunchy comedy to the classy Lyric Opera House on Saturday night. An original cast member on Mad TV, Lange has also had small roles in films and is a regular on The Howard Stern Show.
