A 17-year-old Baltimore boy was sentenced yesterday to 30 years in prison, with all but 12 years suspended, in the shooting of a man with whom he was involved in a continuing fight.

About 9:30 p.m. Nov. 9, Officer Gregory Fisher saw Darius Bacote of the 500 block of Orchard St. fire a handgun five times in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. Fisher chased Bacote, caught him and found a .38-caliber handgun, prosecutors said.

Fisher couldn't identify Bacote's target. Police canvassed area hospitals and learned that a man with a gunshot wound to his back had walked in for treatment.
