Environmental inspector

Michael Allan Keith, an environmental inspector, died of a stroke Sunday at University of Maryland Medical Center. The Pasadena resident was 44.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Brooklyn Park, he was a 1982 Cardinal Gibbons High School graduate.

He initially worked for Maryland Pump, Tank and Electrical, and he later joined the Maryland Department of the Environment, where he was an inspector. He worked for the state for 25 years and founded his own business, Sabre Environmental Solutions. He inspected gasoline stations for environmental compliance.

He was a self-taught musician who played guitar. Family members said he often played and sang at social gatherings.

Relatives said he enjoyed taking friends out to dinner, as well as boating and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. He lifted weights regularly at Energy Fitness in Linthicum.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Ave. in Glen Burnie.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Lynn Keith of Glen Burnie; his parents, Richard and Josephine Keith of Glen Burnie; a brother, Richard D. Keith of Ridgely; and two nephews.
