CHARIOT PARADE

History meets the present at Baltimore's sixth annual Hare Krishna Rathayatra Chariot Parade, India's ancient festival of chariots. A 30-foot-high hand-pulled chariot will travel on Light Street while performers play music, dance and sing. The Festival of India commences after the parade reaches McKeldin Square.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

The 12th annual Charles Village Festival 2008 heads to the Wyman Park Dell for two days of events and activities. The festival features children's games, a 5K race, crafts, food, beverages and live music. The lineup includes rock groups Naked Blue and Carey Ziegler's Expensive Hobby, jazz music by Lafayette Gilchrist and the Joe DeCara Group and others.

WHERE THE ARTS BLOOM

Reisterstown's Bloomin' Art Fest fills part of Main Street on Saturday with arts, crafts, flowers, food and live music. Main Street shops will offer discounts, the children's area will have a variety of activities for younger visitors, and arts and crafts tents will house handmade gifts.

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore celebrates a major birthday with the Israel @ 60 Family Festival. Activities include a moon bounce, miniature golf, a climbing wall and more. The "Walk the Land" section offers a virtual tour of destinations in Israel, such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. Food vendors will sell Israeli food, drinks, hot dogs and hamburgers.
