* Crosby Marketing Communications announced that Joe Fino joined the Annapolis-based agency as director of marketing technology. He is responsible for Web-related projects, interactive programs and new media technology.

* Warschawski appointed Caitlin Mills as an associate at the Baltimore-based public relations and marketing firm. The University of Maryland graduate is responsible for media and client relations and daily account activities.

Banking and finance

* The Columbia Bank named Jeff McCarron senior vice president of retail banking and Sharon Cantrell as vice president of the new community business banking division of the Howard County-based bank.

* M&T Bank appointed William D. Driscoll administrative vice president and regional manager for private client services and product manager, private client services. The regional bank also named Daniel S. Tritsch as an administrative vice president.

* Brown Advisory appointed William J. Baird III as managing partner of the Baltimore-based investment firm's securities business. He formerly was with Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown.

Education

* Goucher College named Michael J. O'Leary vice president for enrollment management and a member of the Towson school's senior staff. He will have responsibility for coordinating student retention policies and initiatives.

Insurance

* Baltimore Life Insurance Co. said Mike Ebmeier joined the company as vice president of national account sales in the independent sales division.

Media

* Sinclair Broadcast Group promoted Barry Faber to executive vice president and general counsel. Also, Robert Malandra was promoted to vice president of finance/television for Sinclair Television Group Inc.

Nonprofits

* The League for People with Disabilities appointed William Pearce as career development manager. He will develop career opportunities and handle job placement. The owner of an online auction company, Pearce formerly was the owner of Southern Sign Supply Inc.

Chimes Maryland/Intervals appointed Alexis Melin as chief operating officer of the Baltimore-based nonprofit. She is responsible for programming, funding, quality assurance and coordination and expansion of services.

Real estate

* KLNB LLC elected Stephen J. Ferrandi as a principal in the Towson-based regional commercial real estate services firm. Formerly with Southern Land Co., the Owings Mills resident holds a graduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University.

* The Strata Group, the Baltimore-based real estate company, appointed Scott Lederer as president of its Strata New Homes Sales LLC.

Telecommunications

* AT&T Inc. named David Carroll as director of financial business operations. He will have fiscal responsibility for Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington and will operate from the regional headquarters in Hanover.
