Sykesville accident kills motorcyclist

A Gaithersburg man was killed yesterday when he lost control of his motorcycle while trying to navigate a sharp curve in Sykesville, Maryland State Police reported.

Norman Robert Taylor, 61, of the 8700 block of Lochaven Drive was taken to Carroll Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead of injuries he suffered when he was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a fence pole. He was northbound on Oak Tree Road south of Bear Branch Road.

State police in Westminster responded to the accident.
