Shooting suspect sought

Harford County police said they believe the shooting of a 24-year-old man outside a Belcamp restaurant Saturday morning stemmed from an altercation between the victim and the suspect several years ago. They have issued a warrant for a Bel Air man in connection with the shooting.

Reginald Leon Bolden, 24, of the 2700 block of Forge Hill Road is sought on the charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and weapons charges, the sheriff's office announced yesterday.

Bolden was identified by the victim, Robert Reginald Ringgold, who was interviewed at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the lower body, according to Sgt. David Betz, spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Bolden is accused of shooting Ringgold outside the Waffle House in the 1300 block of Riverside Parkway about 2:30 a.m., police say. A car approached Ringgold, and after a brief conversation, he was shot from inside the car, according to investigators.

Ringgold, of the 1600 block of Pulaski Highway in Havre de Grace, is expected to recover from his wound.

"Apparently, our victim had been charged in the past for shooting at the suspect," said Betz, who did not know the date of the previous altercation or what caused the initial incident. "We don't know why all of the sudden he decided to shoot the victim."

Bolden's whereabouts were unknown. "We are actively looking for him," Betz said.
