Class 1A

Harford Tech (15-7) vs. St. Michael's (17-5)

Time -- 1 p.m.

Outlook -- Making their second straight appearance in the state final four, the Cobras are facing the Saints of Talbot County. The Saints, who won their only state final in 2001, ad vanced to today's game with an 11-2 romp over Sparrows Point in the semifinals. The Cobras defeated Clear Spring of Washington County in the state semifinals. Junior P-SS Ryan Neukum and seniors Chris Peacher, Bryan Legarda and Jared West lead the Cobras. Jordan Gowe, a sophomore C who hit a pair of two-run homers against Sparrows Point, leads the Saints along with P Michael Turner.

Class 2A

Kent Island (14-10) vs. No. 12 Marriotts Ridge (18-5)

Time -- 4.30 p.m.

Outlook -- Marriotts Ridge was given new life after losing, 14-10, in the state semifinals to South Hagers town on Wednesday. The Mustangs received a forfeit when the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic As sociation announced that South Hag erstown had violated the rule regard ing pitching limitations. Senior OF Kevin Seker, who hit two homers and had four RBIs on Wednesday, leads the Mustangs. P Tim Blair, who had a shaky outing against South Hagers town, might get the call today, according to coach Paul Eckert. If not, John Cruz could pitch. Other top Mustangs are SS Kevin Kratochwill, C Kyle Feldman and IF Steve Kahl. Kent Island is led by P Devin Gardner, Jon Salvino and Andrew Weber. This is Kent Island's first appearance in a state final.

Class 3A

Patapsco (19-2) vs. La Plata (20-2)

Time -- 7 p.m.

Outlook -- The Patriots are seek ing their first state championship un der coach Tony Maggard. Their only other appearance in the state tour nament came in the 1992 semifinals. The Warriors of Charles County reached a 2002 final and are also seeking a first state crown. Patapsco stunned No. 5 Centennial, 8-6, on Wednesday at Joe Cannon Stadium, and La Plata defeated Seneca Valley. The Patriots are led by All-Baltimore County selections Ron Bolyard (7-1, 1.80 ERA, 39 strikeouts in 35 innings) and 3B Vince Tiburzi (.469, five dou bles, three triples, 20 RBIs), as well as C Brent Ellick, P-IF Eric Ryan and P Manny Prassinas. Ellick and Ryan had two hits each in the Patriots' vic tory over Centennial.
