The lowdown -- Ellicott City-based group The Dangerous Summer has worked with producer Paul Levitt, who has collaborated with Dashboard Confessional and All Time Low, and released If You Could Only Keep Me Alive, last summer. The band joins fellow indie quartet the Apathy Eulogy, of Baltimore, for a show at Rams Head Live tomorrow. The Great Escape, Oh, The Story! and Stupid Hero also perform.

The lowdown -- Creative Alliance hosts a colorful variety show, Glitterama, that includes burlesque performances, comedy and much more. Burlesque performers include Sugar Ann Spice, the Three Splooges, Shortstaxx, and Lil' Dutch and Gary Gutter. All-female rock band the Degenerettes and local puppeteer Dawn Swartz present a puppet-punk tribute to ZZ Top.

Bluegrass fun

The lowdown -- For three days, you can listen to bands, get on carnival rides and try various foods at the Middle River Blue Grass Festival. The roster includes the teenager-dominated Green Branch, which has a multistate champion fiddler and banjo picker, and Bowie-based Fitzmaurice Band.

If you go -- The event runs 6:30 p.m.-11 p.m. tomorrow, 1 p.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 10003 Bird River Road.
