Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Burglary/arrests : Officer Jeffrey T. Featherstone was responding to a burglary-in-progress call at an apartment in the 1700 block of Guilford Ave. about 4:20 p.m. Monday when he observed a man climbing down the building's fire escape carrying a backpack. After stopping the man, the officer found stereo equipment, a microwave oven, a digital video disc player, DVDs and clothing, all later identified as coming from the apartment. Arrested and charged with burglary and theft was Nathan Bey, 44, of the 1700 block of Guilford Ave. Later, police arrested Dabrey Thomas, 45, of the 500 block of Chestnut Hill Ave. and also charged him with burglary and theft.


Theft : Someone broke into a 1998 Mitsubishi parked in the 600 block of S. Port St. on Sunday or Monday by breaking a rear window and stole 40 packages of Viagra pills valued at $5,408. Police said the pills were the property of a major drug company.

Bank robbery : Police and the FBI were seeking a man who robbed Provident Bank in the 3800 block of E. Lombard St. of an undisclosed sum of money about 1:10 p.m. Monday after giving a teller a holdup note. No weapon was displayed or implied.

Assault: Two men were fighting outside a bar in the 500 block of Lehigh St. about 8:40 p.m. Sunday when one cut the other in the chest with a knife. The armed man fled, and the victim was reported in good condition at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Assault : A man and a woman were arguing in their home in the 400 block of S. Bond St. early Monday when the man cut the woman on the face with a knife, police said. The woman was in good condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made.

Rape: A woman, 23, told police she was standing on South Broadway about 2 a.m. Friday and waiting for a ride when a man forced her into a nearby alley and raped her. The woman reported the incident Sunday and was taken to a hospital.

Baltimore County


Robbery/arrest : Shortly after a Dollar General Store in the 100 block of Beacon Road was robbed of $60 about 3:15 p.m. Monday, a man was driving from the scene when his Ford Explorer ran out of gas a short distance away. Officer Jesse Schwinn was seeking the man when he observed him about to refuel the vehicle using a gas can and arrested him. Charged with unarmed robbery and assault was Kevin Duschl, 45, of no fixed address. Money believed taken in the robbery was recovered.

Assault: A man, 21, was being treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center for serious injuries received during a fight with another man in the 6100 block of Kenwood Ave. on Sunday night. Arrested and charged with first-degree assault was Michael Eugene Stone, 20, of the 6000 block of Kenwood Ave.


Burglary: Two dirt bikes were stolen Monday from a shed in the first block of Powder View Court. One bike was recovered near the scene.
