*Broadneck: On the night she scored the game-winning goal in overtime against rival Severna Park in field hockey last fall, Broadneck's Lindsay Mitchell left on a train for the Vermont Ice Hockey Academy. It's the second year in a row that Mitchell has split her time between Broadneck and the academy, and she returned at the end of this lacrosse season.
*Track and field: The Arundel girls and Old Mill boys won Class 4A East regional titles Saturday, and the Meade boys won the 3A East regional. Sophomore Kiera Joyner won the 100- and 200-meter sprints and anchored the gold medal 1,600 relay to lead Arundel. Old Mill's Anthony Edwards won the 110 hurdles, was second in the 400 and ran a leg of the victorious 400 relay. Justin Murdock led Meade by copping the 100, 200 and 400 dashes.
*Quick hits: Pat Todaro had four goals to lead the Southern boys (9-6) to a 7-5 win over Eastern Tech in the Class 2A-1A state lacrosse semifinals Friday night ... Urbana won 14 of 22 faceoffs in its 12-6 win over the Severna Park boys in the 4A-3A state semifinals Saturday to keep the Falcons out of a state final for the first time since 2001 ... Corrigan Sports announced the dates for Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Classic Underclassmen games and tryouts for boys and girls entering 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Boys are June 10, 13 and 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McDonogh; girls are June 4 and 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McDonogh.
