Panel examines technology industry

Chesapeake Regional Tech Council will hold a "Technology Economic Indicators Panel" from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., May 20 at 2720 Technology Drive, Annapolis Junction. The panel will explore the current state of the technology industry and its economy.

It costs $30 for members, $45 for nonmembers and at the door.

Bar association holds education program

The Anne Arundel Bar Association will hold a continuing legal education program, "Top Consumer Scams: Consumer Protection Litigation in Maryland: What the Consumer and Business Lawyer Needs to Know," from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Attorney's Lounge, 7 Church Circle, Annapolis.

Topics include: FDCPA and debt collection harassment, FCRA and identity theft, lemon law and Magnusson Moss Act, wrongful repossessions, auto dealer fraud, predatory lending and foreclosure rescue scams, and arbitration of consumer claims. Speakers include attorneys Peter Holland, Jane Santoni, and Sonya A. Smith-Valentine. The cost is $35 for members, $40 for nonmembers and at the door.

Professional women hold luncheon

Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Professional Women's Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20 at The Gathering Place at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church, 8325 Ventnor Ave., Pasadena.

The buffet luncheon will feature giveaways and networking opportunities. Juli Blanton of Keller Williams Crossroads will host the event.

The cost is $15. Reservations are requested and must be made online by Friday.
