Public school secretary

Patricia N. Miller, a retired Baltimore County public school secretary and former Hillendale resident, died of complications from a stroke Tuesday at Genesis ElderCare in Severna Park. She was 82.

Patricia Nyce, who was born in Baltimore and raised in the city's Pimlico neighborhood, was a 1943 graduate of Seton High School.

She worked for 15 years as a secretary in the transportation department of Baltimore County public schools until retiring in 1980.

Mrs. Miller, who had lived in Severna Park for 21 years, had been married for 56 years to Donald A. Miller, an insurance executive, who died in 2002.

Mrs. Miller enjoyed visiting beaches and spending time at an Ocean City condominium.

She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday.

Surviving are a son, Glenn Miller of Severna Park; two daughters, Donna Streagle of Ellicott City and Julie Overturf of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Barbara Nyce of Annandale, Va.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
