Awards

*Jennifer Lewis, president of Frederick-based Lewis Web Solutions, received Small Business Administration state and regional awards for being selected as the 2008 Home Based Business Champion.

*Manekin LLC, a commercial real estate management and development firm based in Columbia, was named Green Business of the Year by the Baltimore Business Journal.

*The Baltimore office of the Reznick Group, the national accounting, business consulting and tax services firm, received the 2008 Governor's Volunteer Service Award.

Contracts

*ARINC Inc. was awarded a contract by the National Railroad Passenger Corp. (Amtrak) to design and deliver a centralized electrification and traffic control system for operations in the Northeast corridor.

New clients

*Remarriage LLC, publisher of reMarriage magazine, selected Baltimore-based public relations and branding firm Warschawski, as its national agency of record.

New name

*Woodhaven Health Services , a Baltimore-based Mid-Atlantic pharmacy services provider, changed its name to Remedi SeniorCare. The firm started in business in 1954 as the Woodhaven Pharmacy.

*Hospice of Baltimore and Hospice of Howard County, Maryland's largest hospice organization, have taken the unified brand name of Gilchrist Hospice Care.

On the board

*Melanie Sabelhaus, an Owings Mills resident and former deputy administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, has been appointed to the board of the Service Corps of Retired Executives.

*Orlan M. Johnson, a partner in the business department of Saul Ewing LLP, was named to the board of directors of the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
