2 arrested in assault, theft

Harford County sheriff's deputies have arrested Rasheem Laquan Christy, 18, and a 15-year-old male, both of Edgewood and charged them with second-degree assault, robbery and theft in connection with an April 22 robbery of an off-duty deputy, authorities said yesterday..

The deputy was assaulted while walking to a gas station in Belcamp, and his wallet, cell phone and keys were taken, authorities said. No weapons were involved in the attack

Christy is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail at the Harford County Detention Center. The juvenile is being detained at the Charles H. Hickey School in Baltimore County.
