ROYALS UPDATE
The Royals, who are in the middle of a season-long 10-game homestand, lost two straight heading into their series finale last night against the Los Angeles Angels. Much like the Orioles, Kansas City's main problem has been a stagnant offense. Entering last night, the Royals had scored a league-low 110 runs. Minnesota had scored the next fewest in the American League with 125. Kansas City's 16 home runs is tied for the league low. Catcher Miguel Olivo leads the Royals with four home runs, and outfielder Jose Guillen has a team-high 15 RBIs but is hitting .165. Closer Joakim Soria has worked 13 shutout innings this season. He has held the opposition to a .071 average.
