Towson women in conference final

Lacrosse Britt Woodfield scored with 37 seconds remaining to break a 7-all tie and lead Towson past George Mason and into the Colonial Athletic Association championship game in Williamsburg, Va.

Junior Hillary Fratzke, who was recently named the CAA Player of the Year, scored four goals for Towson. Jacie Kendall, Meggie McNamara, Lacey Jennings and Woodfield scored one goal each.

The Tigers (11-5, 5-2) face William and Mary for the CAA title at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

William and Mary 15, Delaware 14 -- The Tribe women overcame a three-goal halftime deficit to defeat the Blue Hens in the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals. The Tribe's Ashley Holofcener scored the game-winner with 6:56 remaining, and Delaware missed several opportunities to tie. Senior midfielder Katie Muth and junior midfielder Debbie Sloan scored three goals apiece for the Blue Hens, who got 10 saves from junior goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny. Holofcener had two goals and an assist.
