CHICAGO -- The Orioles' four-game series opener last night against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field was postponed by rain and will be played today as part of a day-night doubleheader.

The first game will start at 1:05 p.m., with Brian Burres (2-1, 3.63 ERA) starting for the Orioles against White Sox left-hander John Danks (2-1, 3.04). In Game 2 , which will get under way at 7:05 p.m., Steve Trachsel (1-3, 5.23) will oppose Nick Masset (0-0, 3.75).

Last night's game was stopped with one out in the bottom of the first inning after Burres retired White Sox leadoff man Nick Swisher on a come-backer. The rain never subsided, and the game was eventually postponed after a delay of more than two hours.

"We always would like to play," Orioles manager Dave Trembley said.

Mark Buehrle, who retired the Orioles in order on just six pitches in the top of the first inning, will start against the Orioles in Monday's series finale, pushing back Javier Vazquez.

The Orioles played a double-header April 10, when they were swept by the Texas Rangers.

Last night's delay capped off a long day for the Orioles, who didn't arrive in Chicago until about 7 a.m. local time after completing a series victory over Seattle on Thursday night. The Orioles (13-9) have won two straight games.
