Town Center master plan to be presented

Proposal includes ideas generated during charrette

General Growth Properties Inc. will present on April 28 a draft master plan for the revitalization of Town Center that integrates concepts generated during the Howard County charrette in 2005 and the meetings with the community since then.

The plan will be further refined with additional discussions held in each of the villages. The following meeting dates are scheduled. Visit www.columbiatowncenter.info for updates.

The April 28th meeting will be at 7 p.m. at The Spear Center, 10275 Little Patuxent Parkway.

For anyone without alternative means of transportation, arrangements may be made by calling GGP at 410-992-6500 by 5 p.m. Friday. County residents older than 60 may arrange transportation with Neighbor Ride at 410-884-4733.

GGP will host a "Vision in Focus" series as a continuation of the "Many Voices, One Vision" draft master plan. Specific elements of the draft plan, including sustainability/environment, transit/traffic and culture will be presented by the consultants engaged in the project.

May 6: Sustainability/Environment - 7 p.m., The Spear Center, 10275 Little Patuxent Parkway.

May 7: Transit/Traffic - 7 p.m., The Spear Center, 10275 Little Patuxent Parkway.

May 8: Culture - 7 p.m., The Spear Center, 10275 Little Patuxent Parkway.

GGP also will conduct a Community Discussion Series in all of the villages to gather comments and ideas from the community on the master plan. Those dates are:

May 12: Long Reach, Noon-2 p.m., Stonehouse.

May 12: River Hill, 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Claret Hall.

May 12: Harper's Choice, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Kahler Hall.

May 13: Kings Contrivance, Noon-2 p.m., Amherst House.

May 15: Dorsey's Search, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Linden Hall.

May 17: Wilde Lake, 10 a.m.-noon, Slayton House.

May 19: Owen Brown,7 p.m.-9 p.m., Community Center.

May 20:Hickory Ridge, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Hawthorn Center.

May 21: Oakland Mills, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., The Other Barn.

May 22: Town Center, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Oakland Manor.
