KERMIT R. "DICK" BROWNING, 83, of Stewartstown, Pa., formerly of Essex and Hampstead, Md., died April 12, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of the late Lois Jean (Langham) Browning; the father of Glen R. Browning and his wife Jackie of Lorain, Oh., Sandra S. Jersild of Cacapon, W. Va., and Mark A. Browning and his wife Darlene of Stewartstown, Pa.; and the brother of Caudy Browning of Essex, Md., and Shirley Byrne of Federalsburg, Md. Dick is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born January 9, 1925 in Dain, W. Va., he was the son of the late James and Mary (Harrison) Browning. Dick was a machinist at Lockheed Martin Corporation (formerly Martin Marietta) and Northrop Grumman Corporation (formerly Westinghouse), both in Baltimore, Md. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and was a loving and devoted husband and father. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 16 at 11 am from the J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, Pa. Interment with military honors in Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, Baltimore, Md., will follow the service. Viewing will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, Pa., 17110
