BASEBALL

No. 13 North County @No. 6 Chesapeake

WHEN -- Friday, 4 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- These two teams are among the contenders for the county championship game next month. The visiting Knights started this week on a two-game losing streak after winning their first seven games. Chesapeake has been getting good pitching from Dylan Porter (3-0, 0.84), Jeremy VerHoef (2-1, 2.45) and Justin Robey (1-1, 2.47), and will need a well-pitched game to stop the Knights, who can swing the bat with the likes of Dino Stevens, Bobby Lance, Josh Pfisterer, Jake Theiss and Cardinal Gibbons transfer Sean Ber trand. Knights ace Nick Benges (4-0) has not given up an earned run this season.
