A Columbia man has been arrested and is being held without bail in the fatal shooting Wednesday of Bryan Antoine Adams Jr., 20, also of Columbia, who was gunned down outside a restaurant in the 10400 block of Twin Rivers Road, police said.

Police knew of no motive for the shooting.

Arrested Saturday night at his home in the 10800 block of Green Mountain Circle in Wilde Lake was Antajuan L. Wilson, 19, said Lt. John E. Superson.

Police arrested Wilson on warrants charging him with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and a weapons violation.

The victim was found about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on the sidewalk on Twin Rivers Road outside a restaurant near the Wilde Lake Village Center by a county police officer who was at a nearby gas station and heard gunfire.

Adams was taken by ambulance to Howard County General Hospital, where he died a short time later.

It was the county's first homicide this year, police said. Last year, there were five homicides in the county, said police.

The shooting prompted the brief closing of six public schools in West Columbia and of Howard Community College, all within a short distance of the shooting scene.
