LET'S GO FLY A KITE

Spring is kite season at Goucher College. The second Great Kite Fly offers kids younger than 12 and their families the chance to participate in a day of soaring activities on Saturday. Bring your own kite or build one at kite workshops. Events throughout the day include displays by the Maryland Kite Society, competitions and food vendors.

A SPIRITED DISCUSSION

Fans of TV's Ghost Whisperer know paranormal investigator Mary Ann Winkowski as the show's consultant. Winkowski says that speaking with ghosts since childhood has led her to travel as far as Scotland to aid those who say they have unwelcome spirits. Winkowski discusses ghosts and paranormal abilities, and signs her book tomorrow at Borders in Timonium.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

As the weather warms up, Maryland's wildlife comes out to play. Wednesday evening, accompany wetlands ornithologist Jim Peters on an expedition around Fort McHenry for bird-watching. With its location on the harbor, Fort McHenry is home to some of the bay's native birds. Guests are encouraged to bring binoculars.

Explore the exhibit Mapping the Cosmos as curator Ben Tilghman guides a tour of the Hubble Space Telescope's deep-space images.
