Defense systems director to speak

Seeking nominees -- The Business Women's Network of Howard County is seeking nominations for its "Woman of Distinction" Award. Nominees should live or work in Howard County, have achieved exceptional success in their fields, and demonstrated professional leadership and commitment to the community. The nomination deadline is Friday. Nominations should include the nominee's name, contact information and a brief explanation of why each is a "Woman of Distinction." Nominations can be e-mailed to jill.valeri@verizon.net. Forms can also be downloaded from www.bwn hoco.org. The award will be presented at the network's May meeting.

Job skills -- Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland is offering a program to help senior citizens learn job skills while working 20 hours a week with nonprofit groups. The organization's Senior Community Service Employment Program is part of the Older Americans Act; participants must meet income requirements.
