Chamber to discuss membership drive

The West County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual membership drive from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Key West Restaurant, 7253 Parkway Drive in Hanover.

Michael Livingston, chief executive officer of the Bank of Glen Burnie, will discuss the economy. The cost is $20 for members in advance, $30 for nonmembers and at the door.

Donations of restaurant certificates, gift baskets, gift cards, sports tickets, trips, day spa certificates and getaways are sought as prizes.

Bar Association to hold fundraiser

The Anne Arundel Bar Association will hold its 16th annual Barristers Ball and Silent Auction, "A Mardi Gras Encore," from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Chartwell County Club, Severna Park.

The cost is $120. There will be prizes for the best Mardi Gras mask. Black tie optional.

Proceeds will benefit Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Anne Arundel County. Donations are tax-deductible.

Tech group to hold business event

The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a Business Builder Joint Breakfast from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. April 23 at Carrol's Creek Cafe, 410 Severn Ave., Annapolis.

The event will bring members of both groups together to uncover new area tech companies, get the latest updates on the computer services sales tax and network.

The cost is $17 for members with advance registration, $22 at the door, and $35 for nonmembers.

Expo to feature door prizes, exhibitors

The Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will hold the Baltimore Washington Business & Technology Expo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 at Medieval Times, Arundel Mills mall, Hanover.

It will feature door prizes, gadgets and services from local business, and exhibitors from Office Depot, Smead, Hewlett-Packard, 3M and other local businesses. The expo is free with your business card.

A networking breakfast will be held at Dave and Buster's in the mall before the expo.

The cost for the breakfast is $25 for members prepaid, $45 for nonmembers and members at the door.

RiverWest plans marketing seminar

RiverWest Marketing, 647 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis, will hold a free seminar, "Media and Marketing," from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Multichamber event set for April 17

The Northern Anne Arundel County, Crofton, Greater Severna Park, West Anne Arundel County, and Baltimore Washington Corridor chambers of commerce and Entrepreneur's Exchange will hold a multichamber breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. April 17 at Hella's, 8498 Veterans Highway, Millersville.

The cost is $25 for chamber members in advance; $45 for nonmembers and members at the door.

Annapolis Concierge offers services

Annapolis Concierge Service has opened to serve residents, visitors and businesses.

The company offers help with planning and hosting events, inspecting and preparing rental properties for tenants or vacationers, locating tickets to events, hosting conferences and other various needs.

Bank starts 6-month renovation

Anne Arundel Savings Bank has started renovating its building at 655 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie to add 5,000 square feet.

The bank's operation center in Brooklyn will move into the renovated offices. Renovations are expected to be completed in six months.
