Couple awakes to find intruder

A Crofton woman in bed with her boyfriend awoke to find a man in her room pulling at her pajamas, Anne Arundel County police said.

The victim, 22, said it was about 4 a.m. Saturday when she discovered the intruder in her apartment in the 900 block of Eastham Court.

She immediately awoke her boyfriend and they startled the man, who fled.

Man fires at Glen Burnie house

Someone fired a gun outside a Glen Burnie party, sending several bullets into the townhouse, Anne Arundel County police said.

The homeowner in the 400 block of Mainview Court told police about 2:30 a.m. Sunday that she had thrown some disorderly guests out of her party, then heard several gunshots outside a short time later.

Officers found spent shell casings in the parking lot in front of the home, but no one was injured inside the home.

Five steal car from 81-year-old man

An 81-year-old man said five men forced their way into his Laurel home and stole his property and his car, Anne Arundel County police said.

The five intruders, including two armed with a black semiautomatic pistol and a .357 revolver, forced their way into the victim's home in the 200 block of Federalsburg South about 12:30 a.m. Monday and accosted him, according to police.

The car they took was a silver 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis four-door sedan, displaying Maryland tags HZN-262.

Man charged with assault, DUI

A Glen Burnie man was charged with hitting a parked car, then running down its owner, breaking his leg and forcing other pedestrians in the parking lot to flee or jump out of the driver's way, Anne Arundel County police said.

Michael Nicholas Villa, 46, of the 300 block of Shipley Ave. allegedly aimed his vehicle at the pedestrian after leaving the Crossroads Tavern, 7354 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, shortly after midnight Monday.

His vehicle was quickly found in the Heritage Hills community, and Villa was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and numerous traffic charges.

The victim was treated at Baltimore Washington Medical Center for possible fractures of his leg.

Woman charged in first-degree assault

An Annapolis woman turned herself in to city police after allegedly pointing a handgun at a neighbor and demanding she profess her love for her.
