Maroon PR announced the appointment of Mitchell Schmale as a senior account executive for the Marriottsville-based sports and entertainment public relations agency.

Banking and finance

The Columbia Bank named Annie L. Geiermann as senior vice president for its newly formed community business banking division. She formerly was with Citizens National Bank.

Andrews Federal Credit Union appointed James Vancini vice president of lending and chief lending officer, and Robert Flanyak as vice president of member services for the 60-year- old Suitland-based credit union.

The Hartford Financial Services Group named Scott Hewitt regional vice president for its Baltimore region office. He is a former senior vice president of Selective Insurance.

EagleBank, based in Bethesda, promoted Deborah C. Shumaker to vice president and business development sales manager.

Enterprise Community Investment Inc., of Columbia, elected the following vice presidents: Kari R. Fitzpatrick, investment management-capital markets, Bill Ostrye, funds analysis-capital markets, Tom Eastman, tax credit syndication, and John Ducey, structured finance.

Education

University of Maryland at Baltimore appointed Maria Ferandez as cataloging librarian at the health science and human service library.

Health care

Concentra Medical Centers, with headquarters in Linthicum, said Brian Williams was named area sales manager for the Maryland/Washington market for the occupational health care company.

Legal and insurance

Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs appointed Selina Brandenburg and Peggy Henry as assistant vice presidents in the Hunt Valley office of the international insurance brokerage firm.

Media

Baltimore Magazine named Lori Birney circulation director for the regional magazine and associated publications. She is responsible for circulation sales, marketing, promotion and distribution. She was previously with Philadelphia STYLE magazine.

Organizations

The Greater Baltimore Technology Council named Alecia Farley as the group's director of professional development. She was formerly with M&T Bank and serves on the board of the Franciscan Youth Center.

Professional services

The Reznick Group, the Bethesda-based national accounting, tax business advisory firm, said Sheslie Royster and Cheryl L. Carter have joined the Baltimore office as principals in the tax practice.
