Toby Orenstein is certainly no stranger to awards ceremonies in either Howard County or the Baltimore and Washington metropolitan areas. Here are some recent highlights of the many accolades she has received throughout her career:

1985 -- Columbian of the Year, Columbia Magazine

1990 -- Howie Award for Contribution to the Arts, Howard County Arts Council

1996 -- Howard County Business Volunteer of the Year; Best Dinner Theatre, Baltimore Magazine (also 1997-1999)

1998 -- Outstanding Woman Award, Maryland State Board of Education

1999 -- Community Recognition Award for 10 years of service, AIDS Alliance of Howard County

2001 -- Included in Lives in Arts: Sixteen Women Who Changed Theatre in Baltimore, by Maravene Loeschke; Honorary Chair, Howard County Arts Council Gala

2002 -- Howard County Women's Hall of Fame, Howard County Commission for Women

2003 -- Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Direction of a Musical, Jekyll and Hyde; Maryland's Top 100 Women, The Daily Record

2004 -- National Education Association Summer Assessment Grant

2005 -- Outstanding Service to Educational Theatre, Maryland Theatre Association

2007 -- Marylander of Distinction, Maryland Life magazine

2008 -- Maryland Women's Hall of Fame, Maryland Commission for Women
