Senior attacker Ali Levendusky (John Carroll) had another hat trick -- her sixth of the season -- but UMBC lost its third consecutive game, 16-8, at Delaware yesterday.
The Retrievers (2-5) held a 2-1 lead with 19:38 remaining in the first half on goals by sophomore midfielder Kelly Burgoyne and freshman midfielder Amanda Pappas, but the Blue Hens scored four straight goals and eight of the final 10 to take a 9-4 halftime lead.
The Blue Hens (3-1) scored the first five goals of the second half. Levendusky scored three straight goals in a six-minute span to pull the Retrievers within seven, but UMBC got no closer.
