Reality TV meets philanthropy tonight on ABC. And that can't be good, can it?
Given the way the constantly expanding genre has devoured and debased everything from marriage (Joe Millionaire) to the family (Wife Swap), one might expect reality TV to do some serious damage to the concept of helping others. At the very least, it would seem safe to expect some rank exploitation of the needy.
Television Oprah's Big Give premieres at 9 tonight on WMAR-TV, Channel 2.
