YESTERDAY, WE ARGUED THAT AMERIca's next president must be a leader with vision who can achieve "consensus on the daunting problems that divide us." On our Web site, baltimoresun.com, Michael from Baltimore countered with: Your O'Malley is showing. Leaders do not lead by "consensus." They lead by having a clear path set toward a stated goal or goals. But Michael W. from Harmans begged to differ, writing, Dictators lead by using the method you say; a true leader builds a consensus and then leads in carrying out the policies that will benefit all - not by being a stubborn fool out of touch with both the wishes of the people and with reality!
